My button collection. It is still quite small, but it is growing.
I picked up this cute little bowl at a Church Garage Sale this spring. {Best Garage Sale EVER!!!}

10 Things I Love...

TGIF!
I love fridays! {And 10 more things that I love!}

Cupcakes
I do not eat cupcakes {correction, I cannot eat cupcakes. I have allergies.}
Therefore love them purely for their aesthetic value.
Sometimes I will make some that I can eat, but they never look this pretty.

NYC
I recently went to the fabulous New York City and LOVED it. We had such a great time!
{Although I found it to be too busy of a city for me. I am more of a small town kind of girl.}

Collections
I was never really a "collector" to acquire collections until just recently.
It is fun finding new pieces that fit in to what you have and to decorate your home.

Uncut Diamond Rings
Very untraditional and unique. I have my eyes on one that I LOVE that I might just get one day.

Vintage Cameras
Just so beautiful, and to even start imagining what lovely memories were captured by that camera...
I am lucky to own two vintage cameras that my family had. They are that much more precious.

Embroidery Art
Especially in a modern, yet timeless style.

Skirts with Pockets
Because, it just makes sense to put pockets!

Vintage Dresses
Are so pretty and classic.

Rainbows
I just love the magical/excited feeling you get when you spot one!

Autumn
I am probably the most excited person for the autumn season to arrive.
The air is cool, everything is so colorful and pretty. I also love what Autumn brings: Thanksgiving, pumpkin pie, pumpkin spiced latte, mittens, crunchy leaves and hot chocolate.

Oh boy! I am glad I am finished this post. I am ridiculously tired right now {I actually had a nap while working on this} So if something doesn't make sense. That is probably why!

4 Simple Goals

Elsie posted a "4 Simple Goals" challenge over on her blog that everyone can participate in. I had just recently come up with a few goals I want to accomplish by the end of the year, so I am joining in on her challenge.
Most of my goals are continual and there is no real deadline on them, but I know if I keep up with them everyday until the New Year that they will end up being routine and will not be a challenge for me anymore.

These are my goals:

1.  Spend less time on the internet. Just go on to do my daily blogs, check email/facebook/twitter for notifications and quickly check out new posts, & check a few blogs I follow. To cut down on blogging time, figure out what I will blog about that day {or the day before} so I am using my time efficiently. This way with less internet time, I will have more time to concentrate on my upcoming projects.
2. Get our apartment to look more like a home. It is getting there, but lacking style. I want to show our personalities with our decorating, acquire collections, art, and make some creations to adorn our place.
3. Take more photographs. I re-started my "365 Days of Photographs" projects, but I want to photograph more than that. I want to document my life and all the people in it, as well as do more professional photography.
4. Create an Art Journal. I absolutely loved the "Tell Your Story" Art Journal class taught by Elsie & Rachel that I want to keep creating Art Journals forever. I am going to be starting with creating one from our New York City vacation, and then start up a new one of daily life.

Elsie, thanks for being so inspiring & such a great motivator!

Photographs I Adore

I look forward to Thursdays, because of todays post. {Don't get me wrong, I love everyday's posts} But this one allows me to search for photographs that I love. {And we all know how much I adore looking at beautiful photographs!}

This weeks Photographs I Adore are all about travel and the places that I want to go. {I recently embarked on a 8-day awesome, first vacation out of the country with my 5 Best Friends to New York City. And have caught Travel Fever!} So here are some places that I want to go:

Amsterdam

Paris

San Francisco

Ireland

New England (In the Autumn)

&

Canada's East Coast (In the Autumn)

Dinos!

Day 3 and still going strong with my project!!!

I picked up these lovely dinosaurs while out at the mall tonight, to make a cute DIY project in the coming weeks. I truly cannot wait to share it with you, I think you will all quite love it & it is easily adaptable to any other figurine creatures that you love.

Good evening!

I got in late tonight, so my posts won't be posted until tomorrow evening.

Polaroid Camera

Well I am on day 2 of my "365 Days of Photos" project! I am going to try really hard to put up the best photograph that it could be each day. Try to improve on my skills in camera and in Photoshop.

{Personal Photograph}

This lovely, hardly used Polaroid camera came to me from my wonderful Gido who knew that I MUST have this camera because I love photography so much. And it goes wonderfully with my old camera collection too!

It was still in its original packaging and with a unused cartridge of film that expired in the early 1970s. Unfortunately, the chemicals in each photograph leaked out to the outside of the cartridge making it unusable. But the camera should still work. (I just have to get my hands on some more current film! *hint*)

Style Crush-Shoes!

This weeks Style Crush is Shoes! But more specifically All-Stars or, (Tim don't hate me!) ones of similar style, like Airwalks or just random store brands.

{personal photograph}

These shoes are my style, they are me & I have been wearing these shoes since I started buying my own footwear.

I probably have owned a total of about 20 pairs (or even more) of this style of shoe in my lifetime. But only own 2 pairs of real All-Stars. Which are by far my most favourite in terms of comfort and durability.

I have been wearing the same pair pretty much day in and day out for just over a year and they are probably just starting to need to be replaced. Though I probably wont be parting with them anytime soon, they are so comfy and I toured the streets of New York City with them. Dorky I know, but it was my first trip out of Canada. Sentimental value, you know?!

Here are some more lovely photographs to satisfy your crush on All-Stars

And yes, I wear them to work too! :)

Wedding Band Shot!

Tonight Josh surprised me & brought me a lovely bowl arrangement of Orchids. So of course I had to take them out of the bowl & take photos of them! (Now I can't get them to fit back in nicely like he brought them home! -typical me!!!)

Here is one of my favourite photos of my little table photo-shoot!

I love it!!!

PS I think that I am going to start my "365 Days of Photos" project again, after another failed attempt...Today seems like the perfect day! I feel inspired. And the third time is a charm, right?! And now that I publicly announced it, I guess I am accountable...

I think I am off to bed, it has been a long night!!! (We had quite the intense storm tonight!) But all in all, a wonderful 2 year anniversary!

Home Inspiration

Today's home inspiration is Wall Art!!!

My cozy apartment is totally lacking in the wall art department (except a few band posters in a cluster by my husbands little computer/guitar corner) I do really wish to change the fact that I have no art in my house. I am actually a little embarrassed by it. Heck, I don't even have any of my photographs up on display either-sheesh! What kind of creative/art loving person am I? I guess maybe because I haven't found "The One" that speaks to me enough to purchase or put up.

Here are a few lovely pieces. Enjoy!!!

PS-All the sources link to the artists shop so you can support handmade as I truly believe it is a wonderful thing!

Have a great rest of the Monday everyone!!!

10 Things I Love...

I haven't been keeping up with my blog lately and I am sorry...When you fall out of routine, it is hard to get back into it.

Pink Flaming Lawn Ornaments
(I really want one for decoration in our apartment!)

Peace Sign Pancakes
(I kind of want my Mom to make these for me for breakfast next time I am over at their place...I can't make a pancake to save my life...)

This Quote
(And the lettering!)

My new Fujifilm Instax Mini Camera
(Thanks Josh!!! -it was an early anniversary gift-)

Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
(My new favourite!)

Felt Leaf Garland
(I can't wait until Autumn to make some for my seasonal banner)

Braided Fabric Necklaces
(Fun and without the metal allergies!)

Fused Plastic Bag Crafts
